I am writing my first blog post as I am working at my desk, the cockpit of Australian Kiss my 41 foot Beneteau. I'm sitting at the dock at Treasure Cay, Abacos, Bahamas
Websites are no longer stagnant shingles that work as a simple welcome sign. They are fluid and dynamic constantly changing and bringing you the most current and relevant information.
After 2 years of the having the same website, although updated regularly, Gone Sailing Adventures is launching a completely new design. It is a modernized format that flows guiding our guests to our services. Our customers often start as a day or special event sail or a private charter. Once hooked we see our guests become students within our internationally recognized school. Not stopping there, we see our graduates join us on a Caribbean sail, a YachtTime member or buy their own boat and become lifelong friends
Two of my guests are the subject of this story who are poster children for the success of upselling on GroupOn. Terry purchased a discount 3hr sail in my 2nd year of business ( 2011). Having extra space in that sail, I promoted a discount to bring a friend and Terry brought Jenn.
It was a beautiful day and perfect sail. Jenn latched onto the helm and I let her dock BetteK. She was hooked. They both enrolled in our Sail Canada Basic Keel Boat Cruising and Jenn was a kid in a candy store. Every day she came to class wide eyed and full of questions.
Of course the story doesn't end there, as Jenn then joined me on a winter charter in the British Virgin Islands for an unforgettable week. It was not long after, I received a phone call asking if I knew a good yacht broker. For the last 5 years Jenn and Terry have been sailing Glory Days.
Ready for more adventure and challenges, the two joined me on the passage to the Bahamas this past November.

The five day sail was full of laughter, fresh fish, beautiful sunsets - including a green flash (subject of another post) and lots of sharing. Upon arrival at Green Turtle Cay we met up with new friends we met in Hampton VA and continued our adventure of exploration for the next 6 days.
My guests have left and for the last three weeks I have been working on the new website. It has a lot more pictures for both promotion and just plain story telling. The flow of the site should guide our customers in navigating to facilitate their purchase. I hope you enjoy the new site, find it simple to use and
continue to follow my adventures aboard Australian Kiss. I welcome your feedback.
I will share stories of my adventures and lessons learned along the way. Some call them mistakes, I prefer to see them as experiences to grow from and not repeat again.
